Our School
Welcome to Maple Grove!
At Maple Grove, we believe every child deserves to be seen, heard, and loved. These are not just words—they are our daily commitment. When students feel valued and connected, they flourish not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well.
We are also passionate about helping students take ownership of their learning. Through curiosity, collaboration, and a growth mindset, our learners become active participants in their education. Our goal is for every child to own their learning journey, building the confidence and skills to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Finally, we are dedicated to deep learning—the kind that stays with students long after the lesson is over. We strive to foster critical thinking, creativity, and real-world connections so that our students are not just learning, but learning deeply.
Why Choose Us?
Teacher Clarity Work
At Maple Grove, our teachers are architects of a responsive, intentional learning environment. Here is how we bring the Grizzly mission to life: Transparent Learning: Students own their education. Teachers use clear Success Criteria and Learning Progressions so students can self-assess and map their own growth. Regulation & Relationship: We prioritize connection over discipline. Through Morning Meetings and Restorative Practices, we ensure every child feels seen and loved while providing the tools—like our Calm Room—to stay in a "ready-to-learn" state. Data-Driven Growth: Teams analyze Common Formative Assessments to provide "just-in-time" feedback. We differentiate through pre-teaching and enrichment to ensure no student is left behind. Language-Rich Culture: We build strong communicators using Thinking Maps and intentional dialogue. Our consistent, school-wide writing process develops confident, independent writers.
Beyond the Classroom
At our school, being a Grizzly means exploring passions that reach far beyond the classroom walls through a diverse array of extracurricular communities. Whether your student is looking to find their rhythm in Band, Choir, or Orchestra—where they develop technical mastery and the discipline of collaborative performance—or wants to make a tangible impact on the environment with our Green Team’s sustainability initiatives, there is a place for everyone to belong. For those who thrive on movement, we foster grit and teamwork through competitive Basketball and Track, while providing a relaxed, social outlet for physical wellness in our Walking Club. By offering these varied avenues for engagement, we ensure that every Grizzly has the dedicated space to lead, create, and grow alongside their peers, turning personal interests into lifelong skills.
Kindergarten
In Kindergarten at Maple Grove, we believe that a child’s first experience with school sets the foundation for a lifetime of curiosity. Our "Grizzly" educators transition students into a language-rich environment where play and purpose meet. We ensure every student feels seen, heard, and loved. Our classrooms are designed as intentional spaces where young learners move from "guessing" to understanding, using simple Success Criteria to celebrate their first steps in reading, writing, and social-emotional growth. It is a place where we prioritize relationships over discipline, ensuring every student starts their academic journey in a safe, joyful, and responsive community.
Celebration of Learning
Every May, the hallways of Maple Grove buzz with a special kind of pride during our annual Celebration of Learning. This is a dedicated time for our Grizzly learners to step into the spotlight and take full ownership of their educational journey. Rather than a traditional "open house," this event puts students in the driver's seat; parents are invited to join their children as they navigate through the evidence of their growth from the past year. Whether it is through curated learning portfolios, digital presentations, or hands-on demonstrations, our students showcase the "what, why, and how" of their progress. It is a powerful moment to see our Grizzlies use their success criteria and learning paths to explain not just what they learned, but how they overcame challenges to get there. We invite every family to come witness their child shine, celebrate the milestones reached, and honor the hard work that makes our community so remarkable.
