Kelly Holder

My name is Kelly Holder. This is my 18th year of teaching, my 5th not only at Maple Grove, but in the state of Idaho. I grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where I attended Kalamazoo College and Western Michigan University for my undergraduate degree. While at Western, I was fortunate to study a semester in Strasbourg, France, and I enjoy French culture, language, and especially the food! In 2006, I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Reading and Language Arts from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

After college, I taught 6th grade for two years in Casper, Wyoming, 4th grade in Fruitport, Michigan for 11 years, and 4th 5th and 6th grade here at Maple Grove since 2011. I have been married to my amazing husband Joe for 14 years, and have an adorable and brilliant (I am NOT biased!) daughter Keira, who is eleven years old.

I enjoy exploring the city of Boise, enjoying new restaurants, venues, and experiences in the City of Trees. I love to run, read, write, study history, cook, and travel, and I am a huge sports fan, especially of soccer, volleyball, football, baseball, and hockey.
